One of the more unusual laws of the Old Testament was that no Israelite was to boil a young goat in its mother’s milk. Deut. 14:21. This was one of the reasons that led the Jews to extrapolate a complex and somewhat confusing system of dietary rules which banned them from eating dairy or meat in the same meal. This became a significant part of what we term ‘kosher’. But was this the real reason for such a law? I don’t believe it was.

Allow me to digress for a moment.

Take the case of certain religious groups who ban or frown upon women wearing slacks. Their reasoning for such is based on the law that forbids a man from dressing in a women’s clothing as well as a woman dressing in a man’s clothes. Deut. 22:5. It seems perfectly clear to me that God was referring here to what we would today call cross dressing, where a man or woman seeks out some sort of perverted sexual pleasure from dressing in the clothes of the opposite sex. It has nothing to do with wearing modest and practical clothing. Men in Biblical times wore robes resembling today’s dress for women. Many Pacific Islanders wear lap-laps, Hawaiian men wear Lava lavas and the Scotts wear kilts. Etc.

Now back to the kid being boiled in its mother’s milk. Once again I believe we have missed the point. The point being that milk was to be the source of life and never a method of death. God’s word is likened to milk. Jesus stated that words I speak to you are spirit and life. Milk was intended to give life, nourishment, comfort, and growth.

You may well ask why even write about such a topic? I’m glad you asked! I believe the moral equivalent, although ten thousands times more diabolical, involves the killing of multiplied millions of innocent children while still in their mother’s womb. God created the womb for the development of the child, not its destruction. It was to be a place of preparation, not annihilation. A place where the child would be safe, not slaughtered. God never intended the womb as a place of torture and terror but rather a place of protection and peace. The womb was never intended to be a tomb.

Daily we are hearing more and more about Planned Parenthood’s diabolical genocide of the weakest and feeblest among us. Recently most, if not all of the major media giants, have spent much more time covering the killing of a beloved lion in Africa by an American dentist than the horrific videos showing the brutal butchering of innocent lives. Added to this unbelievable carnage is the selling of their tiny body parts to the highest bidder. Reaction to the videos from the left was to blame those making the videos as evil. Talk about calling good evil and evil good!

How much longer God will withhold His hand of judgment I don’t know. What I do know is that America’s cup of iniquity must be close to being filled and when it is, may God help us as a nation. Pray that God would grant us mercy and raise up a President that would make it his or her priority to end abortion once and for all. If not, it could well be the end of America as we
