Presidential hopefuls have recently questioned the faith of President Obama. This has unleashed a firestorm of protest against any and all who would dare to suggest that our president is not a Christian. Even T. D. Jakes has called for Franklin Graham to apologize for raising doubts about the President being a genuine Christian.

In case anyone is still in doubt, let me set the record straight. Our President is NOT a born again Christian. I can say that with the certainty and backing of God’s Word.

No genuine believer can advocate for abortion, condone homosexuality and call himself a child of God. The Bible makes it abundantly clear, ‘let everyone that names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.’ The repeated lies of our President alone have already sealed his place in hell unless he repents and turns to Christ for forgiveness.

Jesus made it abundantly clear that not everyone who calls Him ‘Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven’ Jesus went on to say, ‘then I will declare to them, I NEVER KNEW YOU, depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.’

Not a week goes by that I don’t pray for the salvation of our President. God’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save, and nobody is beyond the amazing grace of God. I refuse to believe that just because a man calls himself a believer that it makes him one. While he may be one of the most, if not the most powerful man in the world, he can’t by the use of his phone and pen declare himself a child of God. His Muslim upbringing has certainly given him a strong bias toward Islam and his failure to denounce radical Islam only strengthens my belief that he would far rather offend Christians and Jews than his Muslim counterparts.

Like Saul of old, who was convinced he was serving God’s interests until he had a divine encounter with the living Christ on that Damascus road; so President Obama needs to have a meeting place with Almighty God. Until that day he will never convince me that he is a Christian.

This brings us to our role in all of this –PRAYER. We are exhorted to pray, ‘for kings and all who are in authority…who desires all men to be saved…’(1 Tim. 2:1-4)

David, thank you for your voice of reason in this matter. I’ve heard a lot of “Christians” condemn President Obama for not being a true believer, rarely hear the call to pray for him.

It’s interesting I was thinking about this very thing this morning on my way to work, I felt as though I should pray more for this man, not only because of his position and the influence he has over the country, but because of the very things you mention in the article. In all honesty I have a distain for him, but that is my sin and as scripture says love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

I appreciate the truthfulness of your article.
